Steve Tignor was born in New York City and moved all over the northeast until he and his family settled down in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, where he attended high school. He got his undergraduate degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he did research in the lab of Chulsung Bae working on improving the properties of anion exchange membrane fuel cells. Interested in learning more about clean energy and fuels, he came to the Bocarsly group to work on CO2 reduction. In his spare time, Steve loves running, playing in the university orchestra, and eating anything and everything made by the wonderful staff at the local Wawa.
